John Mooradian, 48, passed away Thursday January 5, 2017 in the comfort of his home with his family at his side. John was born May 18, 1968 in Garden Grove, California to Archie and Helen (Ingle) Mooradian. His family came to Deming in 1984 from New Jersey and in 1986 he graduated from Deming High School. He worked for Barker Oil for some time but always had a sincere interest in law enforcement.
He began his career in the Luna County Reserves and 21 years later, in 2014 he was elected Luna County Sheriff. John loved this community and was always attentive to the people no matter when or where he would meet them. He especially loved his family and they spent many outings riding ATV’s and enjoying the outdoors together. John was also an avid fan of the New England Patriots.
He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Michelle Mooradian of the home; children, Rheganne Mooradian of Las Cruces, Joshua Mooradian of Deming; brothers, Michael Mooradian of Denver, Colorado, Christopher Mooradian of Deming; sister, Sherry Ingle of Deming; and numerous extended family members.
