John Michael Doleys, 62, Pendleton, died November 18, 2005 at Community Hospital, Anderson after a brief battle with lung cancer.
He was born February 19, 1943 in Detroit, Michigan, and was a resident of Pendleton for 2 years, moving here from Elkhart, Indiana.
He was the director of IT at Metaldyne in New Castle for over 13 years. He served his country in the US Navy during the Vietnam War.
He is survived by his wife whom he married February 17, 1984 in Elkhart, Indiana, Gloria Sheldon Doleys; father, John G. Doleys of Manistee, Michigan; five children, Cheryl and husband Joseph Ochinero of Oakley, California, Julia and husband Dennis Duck of Atlanta, Georgia, John Doleys Jr. of Modesto, California, Stacy and husband Don Smith of Portage and Nicholas and wife Amber Emery of Misawawa, Japan; two brothers, Dr. Daniel and wife Sue Doleys and Robert and wife Susan Doleys; two sisters, Mary and husband Mike Raatz and Annette and husband Mike McCrory; nine grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to extend a special thanks to the nursing staff at Community Hospital. He was preceded in death by his mother, Julia Brandis Doleys.
