John Mario Lovati, 99, of Joliet, passed away Wednesday, August 16, 2017, at the Illinois Veterans Home in LaSalle. Mr. Lovati was born September 8, 1917 in Joliet to Bernardo and Enrichetta (Re) Lovati.

He married Lucille Lentini in 1941 at St. Anthony’s Church in Joliet. Mr. Lovati was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during World War II.  He was a milkman, doing door-to-door deliveries for 39 years. He was a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Knights of Columbus. He was a former member of St. Anthony’s Church in Joliet and the teamsters union. He enjoyed oil painting and television repair.

Survivors include one son, Bernard (Nancy) Lovati of Joliet, and one daughter, Jerri Lynn Kennedy of St. Louis, MO; three grandchildren, Diana (Karen) Lovati, John Michael Lovati, and Raymond Kennedy; one great-grandson, Levi; one great-granddaughter, Ella and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Lucille on November 4, 1989; three brothers; one sister; one son-in-law, Ray Kennedy and a dear friend, Mary Treharne.
