John M. Piscanio, 83, of Bernville, passed away peacefully in his home on Wednesday, November 25, 2015. He was the loving husband of Yvonne (Saeger) Piscanio, with whom he shared over 49 years of marriage.

Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late Michael and Anna (Tomcic) Piskanin. He graduated from William Allen High School in 1950, and then served in the US Army during the Korean War. He was a welder for the Fuller Company in Catasauqua, and then became a clerk and store manager for the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board, working in many stores in the Lehigh Valley area. He enjoyed travelling, playing guitar, studying languages – especially Pennsylvania German, camping, reading maps, and being with his family and friends.

John was a member of Bethlehem Lodge #283 of Free and Accepted Masons, the Calypso Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star, the Dorothy Lim Memorial Court, the Order of Amaranth, the Lehigh Consistory – Valley of Allentown, the Rajah Shrine in Blandon, the Bethlehem Forest #61 of the Tall Cedars of Lebanon, the Bethlehem MORA Club, and the American Legion in Bath. He was also a member of St. Thomas UCC, where he sang in the choir and was a member of the Consistory.

Survivors: wife Yvonne; son Jeffrey Piscanio and his wife Karen of Bernville; grandson Jake Piscanio; brother Michael Piskanin.
