Mr. John M. Callaghan
, 73 passed away on Tuesday October 26, 2010 in the Palmerton Hospital in Palmerton, PA.
John was born and raised in Kearny and lived there for many years before moving to Effort, PA 15 years ago.
Mr. Callaghan worked in the Department of Public Works for the town of Kearny for 25 years. He retired in 1995. He was an active member in the Assemblence of God Church in Brodheadsville, PA
He was predeceased by his wife Phyllis (Schneider) on August 17, 1990.
He is survived by his four sons Mickey, William, Richard, and Kevin Callaghan. He was the brother of Betty Smolen. He was the beloved grandfather of Ellyanna and Kaitlyn Callaghan.
Mr. Callaghan’s final generous act was to give the gift of life through organ donation.
