John Leroy House, Sr., 67, of Terre Haute passed away Tuesday November 15, 2011 at 10:51 p.m. in his residence surrounded by his family.
John was born April 9, 1944 in Terre Haute to Virgil A. House and Mary Riggs House.
John was formerly employed by Local Labor Union #204 and proudly served in the U.S. Army.
John was a past Commander at American Legion Post 104 and served in the Color Guard. He enjoyed cooking, especially chili, home improvement, cutting grass and his computer.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Virgil A. House and Mary Shassere; his first born son, John L. House, Jr.; a brother, Gene House; a sister, Helen Bond.
John is survived by his wife of 46 years, Jean E. House. He is also survived by his children, Tim House and his wife Cecelia, Katrina Basile and her husband Anthony, Brad House and his wife Courtney all of Terre Haute. He is also survived by three sisters, Elizabeth Badger and her husband Bobby , Virginia Hill and Becky Snow and her husband Paul; one brother, Rick Shassere; thirteen grandchildren and one great grandchild.
