John Leonard Key, 65, of Palatka, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, July 20, 2021, at Putnam Community Medical Center from complications of the COVID virus. He was a native of Alexandria, VA, and had lived in Putnam County since 2005 coming from Jacksonville. John attended the UF School of Law and had worked as a real estate attorney. He was the owner and operator of Key Law Offices, P.A. in Palatka. John was a talented musician, enjoyed riding motorcycles, and was an avid Gator fan. His greatest joy was spending time with his family and taking care of his girls.
He is preceded in death by his father, John Key, and bonus dad, Frank Jerkins.
He is survived by his wife, Kathy Key, daughters, Alyssa Key (Sam Dusablon), Christiana Key, Malina Malinak, Erika Shepperd, Emma Key and Elaina Key, mother, Grace Jerkins of Palatka, siblings, Jack Key (Tina), Joe Key (Dawn), Janice Mathis, Jimmy Key (Stacey) and Joy Rothwell, and grandchildren, John Henry Eubanks, Jordan Eubanks, Vincent-Leo Key, Regan Shepperd, Julien Dusablon, and Mila Dusablon.
