John Lee Murray, 89, of Boise, died of natural causes January 19, 2011. He was born May 13, 1921, in Brownsville, PA , to Viola and Arthur Murray. He served in the US Navy from 1942 to 1945 in the Pacific Islands.
He married Margaret Douglas on July 27, 1945 in San Francisco.
He was proud to be employed as Foreman and Lineman by Idaho Power for over 35 years, retiring in 1984. John’s hobbies included boating, football, woodwork, and traveling the US with his wife in their motor home. He had a long, productive and happy retirement life filled with family activities.
John enjoyed camping with his family and playing cards with his children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his spouse of 65 years, Margaret; children, Margarette and Daniel Breeding of Caldwell, ID, Patricia and Roger Vice of Houston, TX, John Murray Jr. of Boise, ID, Janet Eld of Meridian, ID; grandchildren, Ryan and Jodie Vice of Victoria, TX, Jennifer and Robert Lawson of Houston, TX, Aili (Helen) Eld of Meridian, ID, David Eld of Meridian, ID, Alisha Machado-Murray of Meridian, ID; great-grandchildren, Bailey Lawson of Houston, TX, Skyla Vice of Victoria, TX; brother, Arthur Lee and Huguette Murray Jr. of Fairless Hills, PA; sister, Pat and Dean Miller of Simpsonville, SC; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
