Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother, John Larry Morris,76, went home to be with the Lord on May 26, 2024.Left to cherish his memory are his high school sweetheart and wife of 53 years, Barbara Ramsey Morris; daughters, Suzanne Morris Pruitt (Todd) of Suffolk, VA; Leigh Anne Morris Parks (Doug) of Chesapeake, VA; Dinah Morris Oliver (John) of Windsor, VA; his grandsons, Dylan Reed Pruitt, Riley Allen Pruitt, Jackson Carter Parks, and granddaughters, Georgia Grace Oliver and Caroline Carter Oliver; his sister, Anna Morris Cross of Portsmouth, VA and niece Elizabeth Voegeli (Dorian) of Norfolk, VA. He will be greatly missed by many extended family members, neighbors, and friends.A lifelong resident of Suffolk, Larry was born on January 30, 1948. He is predeceased by his parents, Clifford Speight Morris and Ernestine Smith Morris. He was an active member, Sunday School teacher, and former deacon of Hillcrest Baptist Church.Larry graduated from Suffolk High School in 1966 and later received his associate’s degree in agriculture from Paul D. Camp Community College. He served his country in Vietnam during his time in the U.S. Army.Larry loved the land and worked for many years as an agricultural sales and service manager for AGCO. During that time, he traveled extensively throughout the East Coast, worked the wheat harvest from Texas to the Canadian border, and made occasional trips to Europe. In later years, he worked locally at Nansemond Tractor, Inc., in Suffolk and Stevenson Tractor in Chesapeake.
