John Larry Arnett Sr was born on May 28th, 1947 in Borderland Kentucky. He passed away on April 12th, 2019. John was married to Jocelyn Lezeau. They have two sons together, Jeffrey and Jamel Arnett. John also has two other children, firstborn, John Arnett Jr, and daughter, Nadia Michelle Arnett. Grandchildren include Nadia’s son, Freeman Walker, Snoddy age 10 and Logan age 7; sisters, Iris Brooks and Virginia Ross; brothers, Jerry Arnett and Walter Arnett; and lots of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

John was in the army from 1965 to 1973. He then went into the marines from 1975 to 1987. John was honorably discharged from the army and the marines and retired. He then pursued his education and received his master’s in business in 1995. From there, John joined the police force in Philadelphia. After ten years of retirement, he moved to Florida and joined the police force in West Palm for a year, and worked as a Net Technician for the St. Lucie County School Board. In 2010, John completely retired, however, he still worked as a handyman and did some computer work. He loved to work in the house or on any house as a handyman.

John’s hobbies included a love of travel, going to the casino, singing, enjoying music, fishing, and motorcycling. He loved to go to his brother-in-law’s house, Mac Arthur to play music nonstop. At any family dinner, we always chose John to say the prayers.

John battled cancer, but he put up a great fight. He is a true soldier, a marine. He touched each and every one of us, young and old, all ages. He was one of the great Americans and he will be missed profoundly.

We love you dearly John Larry Arnett, Sr.
