Jewett City – John L. Champagne, 78, of Brown Avenue passed away Sunday evening at Norwichtown Rehabilitation in Norwich.
He was born March 16, 1935 in Cranston, RI son to the late Wilfred and Loretta (Ledoux) Champagne. On April 12, 1978 in Norwich he was married to Sharon (Yorz) Champagne. She survives him.
John worked for many years as a housekeeper at the State Hospital in Preston.
Besides his wife he is survived by his children Ronald, Keri-Sue, and Annette Champagne.
John loved camping with his family at Ross Hill Campground in Lisbon for over 25 years. He loved the holidays, especially decorating for Halloween.
