John (Jack) Kohler Smith, 84, of Quakertown passed away Saturday, August 21, 2021 at St. Luke’s Hospice House.  Born in 1937, he was the son of the late John and Harriet (Kohler) Smith.  He was the husband to the late Lynn (Williams) Smith, whom he married in 1961.  John honorably served his country in the United States Navy after earning his Bachelor of Arts at Haverford College.  After his service, he owned and operated Smith’s Furniture, Broad St., Quakertown, PA, for over 30 years.
Jack loved playing  golf from the time he was 12 years old. He got 3 holes-in-one in his lifetime and frequently played under par. He also enjoyed playing bridge and gin with friends. In his younger years, he enjoyed sailing, and with his father built a wooden single mast sailboat, the Double Bogey. He enjoyed woodworking, making beautiful gifts for his family. Jack enjoyed completing crossword puzzles every morning. He was a member of the Quakertown Rotary Club and attended the First UCC Church in Quakertown. He was a wonderful, loving father and will be greatly missed by his children and grandchildren who will all enjoy telling stories about Pop Pop.

John is survived by children, Dana Smith Swanson (James) of New Hope, PA, Robin Adair Smith, of Cincinnati, OH; grandchildren Hailie, Madison, and Emma Swanson, and McKenzie and Zachary White; longtime companion Arlene Price of Quakertown PA; siblings, Jere Smith (Bonnie) of Waynesville, NC, Andrew Smith (Chris) of Bloomsburg, PA, and Mariellen Schwentker of Winchester, VA.
