John “Kelly” Grenga, age 82, of Newnan passed away Thursday, November 3, 2011 at his home. He was born March 28, 1929 in Newnan to the late Angelo & Eva Kelley Grenga. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by siblings: James, Louise, Angelo, John, Helen & Bobby. Mr. Grenga was a member of The First Baptist Church of Newnan and a member of Gideons International. He was a retired coach, teacher, and school social worker. He was inducted into the Coweta County Sports Hall of Fame in 2008. He is survived by his wife, Gloria Jones Grenga of Newnan; children: Saralyn “Lyn” Mathis (Joe) of North Wildwood, NJ, John Kelly “Kel” Grenga, Jr. (Sandra) of Charlotte, NC, Gloria Faye Nicholson (Nick) of Ringgold, GA; grandchildren: Laura Mathis Fairfax, Gloria Lee Mathis, John Kelly Grenga III, Sarah Grenga King, Angelina Grenga, Gloria Elizabeth Grenga, Nicholas Nicholson, Benjamin “Ben” Nicholson and Joshua Nicholson; great-grandchildren: Jackson Kelly Fairfax, Rachel Fairfax and John Kelly Grenga, IV.
