John J. Zinser, 92, of Haddam CT passed away peacefully of natural causes on December 10, 2022.
John (Jack) was born on May 15, 1930 to Phillip and Marion Zinser in New York, NY. He attended St. Francis College in New York, prior to serving his country in the Korean war as a Master Sargent of an artillery battery and fighting at the battles of Bloody Ridge and Heartbreak Ridge. After a successful career as an insurance executive he retired to Florida in 1995. Not only a proud Korean War Veteran, he was passionate about The Brooklyn Dodgers and a lifelong fan of the New York Giants football team. The family has many fond memories of watching and cheering on his beloved G-Men.
John is predeceased by his parents and his brother Phillip. He is survived by his sister-in law Joan Zinser, his wife, Leanore, and her three children; Suzanne Silverman (Rick), Milissa Brigante (Dan), Andrew Wainacht (Kim) and their families, his ex-wife Mildred and their four children; Jay (Anneli), Edward (Debbie), Richard (Joan), Annette Buzzanca (Tony), as well as seven grandchildren; Danielle Tibbetts (Evan), Anthony Buzzanca (Hannah), Vincent Buzzanca, Kristen Smith (Josh), Lauren Dagel (Alex), Nicholas Zinser (Katie) and Haley Sage (Matt). He was also blessed with 8 nephews and nieces and 5 great grandchildren.
