On Friday, April 21, 2006, John “Joe” Spalt passed away at the Baltimore Washington Medical Center in Glen Burnie due to respiratory failure. John was predeceased by his loving wife of 40 years, Evelyn R. Spalt. He is survived by his beloved children, Joann E. Hoffman, Michael J. Spalt, and Kathleen A. Spalt. John is also survived by three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
John Spalt was born in Baltimore and graduated from Mt. Saint Joseph’s High School. He retired from the Baltimore Gas & Electric Company after 28 years of service as a crane operator. John was in the United States Army from 1945-1946 as a pfc rifleman. He belonged to the Knights of Columbus Fr. McGivney Council in Glen Burnie, the Pasadena Senior Center, and the Loyal Order of the Moose #1456 in Glen Burnie. John enjoyed playing cards, watching T.V.
