John J. Branson IV, “JJ”, 41, passed away peacefully at home on July 10, 2022.  JJ was born on April 19th, 1981, in San Diego, California to John J. Branson III and Karen M. Branson.  He married Sara Gale Shappell on April 9th, 2016, in Breckenridge, Colorado. He and Sara then started a family and have both a young daughter and young son.

At the time of his passing, JJ was engaged in a dynamic and rewarding career in the residential property management field.  He most recently served as the Director of Building Operations – Denver Region – for the AMLI Residential Corporation, which he absolutely loved. In addition to his work at AMLI, he was also an active member of the Denver Bassmasters. When not working or with his family, he was often traveling and competing in fishing competitions and truly loved that community that he was a part of.

JJ loved life and lived it to the fullest. Perhaps best known for his infectious personality, he brought a smile to the faces of all with whom he came in contact. It was not uncommon for JJ to make a lifelong friend after only just meeting them. JJ loved and was great at many things. From fishing to snowboarding to guitar playing to cooking, he found his passions and pursued them with enthusiasm. He loved the beach, the mountains, great conversations with great friends, and most importantly, his family.  His children were his proudest accomplishments and his unconditional love for them was evident in all he said and did.

JJ is survived by his wife, Sara, of Aurora, Colorado, his daughter, Savannah Bella, 5, his son, John Joseph Branson V (“Johnny V”, “Johnny Five”, “Jax”), 2, and his sister, Kate Garcia of San Diego, California. JJ is also survived by his mother Karen M. Branson and his father John Joseph Branson III.
