John “Jack” Sullivan passed away on October 8, 2020 in Cape Canaveral, FL. He was born in Utica, NY son of John and Jane Sullivan on March 24, 1935. He grew up in Waterville, NY until he joined the Marine Corp in 1952. He served for 3 years during which time he fought in the Korean War. Jack then enlisted in the Navy for 4 years working as a corpsman.
After his military years he worked as a corrections officer for New York State. Upon his retirement he moved to Florida where two of his siblings had relocated.
Jack leaves a brother Thomas (Jean) Sullivan, Cocoa Beach, FL. who took care of him during his illness and a special niece Peggy Sullivan, Cocoa, FL who also cared for him and kept him laughing. He also leaves a sister, Katherine (Kurt) Schachtler Waterville, NY and several nieces, nephews, Great-nieces and Great-nephews. Jack is preceded in death by his parents, a brother William Sullivan, Roswell, NM and a sister Carol Sweetland, Seminole, FL.
