John “Jack” Silver Menerey, 87, of Tiskilwa, died at 3:26 am March 16,2015 in Liberty Village in Princeton.
Mr. Menerey was born on August 17,1927 to Lorence John and Faye (Silver) Menerey. He was a retired Teamster with Local #722. He served with the US Navy as a Seabee, after he enlisted at age of 17 in 1944. He received his basic training at the Great Lakes Naval Training Center and was then stationed in the Philippines. In his later years, he enjoyed farming and hanging out at his buddy Delmar’s shop.
Mr. Menerey is survived by one daughter, Monafae (Larry) Menerey Scriba; four sons, John (Diana) Menerey, Larry Menerey, Joe (Cathy) Menerey and Mike (Tami) Menerey; thirteen grandchildren, many great grandchildren; his second wife Connie Menerey and her children and grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, two infant children, one daughter Dee Marlene in 1973 at the age of 7 , his first wife Betty Jane Petersen in October of 2014 and his Yorkie , Princess Joey.
