John “Jack” Sames, 80, of East Peoria, IL, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 19, 2021, at his residence.
Jack was born on March 16, 1941, in Belfast, Northern Ireland, the son of John and Mary Hayes Sames Sr. He married Maureen Moran on June 19, 1965, in Saratoga Springs, NY.
Surviving are his wife, one son Mark Sames both of East Peoria, grandchildren: Kevin Sames, Metamora, Kiersten (Matthew) Eades; two great-grandchildren: Lucas W. Eades and Alexander M. Eades, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Jack was a U.S. Air Force Veteran serving during the Vietnam Conflict.
Jack loved anything aeronautical and earned his private pilot’s license. He was enthusiastic about flying small planes and obtained advanced certificates.
