John Jack Coen, 85 of Centralia, passed away Friday, September 23, 2016 at his home. He was born August 5, 1931 in St. Louis, Missouri, son of Clarence Coen and Elizabeth (Foshage) Coen. He married Peggy (Jurgensmeyer) Little-Coen on May 1, 1993 in Paducah, Kentucky and she survives in Centralia.
In addition to his wife, he is also survived by a son, John Kelly Coen and wife April of Austin, TX; a daughter, Lela Anderson of St. Louis, MO; a step son, Cecil Kent Little and wife Elizabeth of Clearlake, TX; a step-daughter, Kim Hachmeister and husband Bill of Port St. Lucie, FL; five grandchildren: Ashley, Jackie, Crystal, Jordan and Meg; four great-grandchildren; a niece, Diane Becker and husband Marty of St. Louis, MO; two brother-in-laws, Michael Jurgensmeyer and wife Donna, Larry Jurgensmeyer and wife Nancy; a sister-in-law, Donna Simonton and husband Bill.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers: William and Floyd, and two sisters: Evelyn and Ginny.Jack served in the U.S. Navy with a ranking Boatswain Mate 1952 – 1960. He was a member of the Centralia Elks Lodge 493, Centralia American Legion Post 446, and Centralia V.F.W. Post 2055. He was in the Cork Ball Hall of Fame. His greatest enjoyment was spending time with his family and friends.
