John (Jack) Chamberlain, 87, passed away at Peace Hospice on July 8, 2018. Jack was born in Great Falls to Raymond and Laverna Chamberlain. His mother later married Pete Rearden and moved to a ranch in the Millegan area where Jack grew up. He left high school in his junior year and joined the Marine Corps, stationed at Eltoro Marine Base for 4 years. Upon his honorable discharge, he returned to Montana and completed high school at Cascade.
Jack worked for several building contractors around Great Falls and was employed at the Great Falls Fire Dept., retiring after 20 years.
He loved racing his 1934 Ford sedan, competing at multiple drag strips in Montana and Spokane. He was inducted into the Montana Drag Racers Hall of Fame. He was a member of the Altered Classics Car Club, Eagles and Elks Clubs.
Jack is survived by Patricia, his wife of 59 ½ years; son, Joe (Linda) Chamberlain; daughter, Janis Chamberlain; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sister, Shirley Harrod; half-brothers, Terry (Cathy) Rearden and Jim (Patty) Rearden; half-sister, Kathy (John) Haines. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Raymond Chamberlain and Harry Chamberlain.
