John R. “Jack” Cajio, Sr., of Burlington Twp. died Monday August 14, 2017 at the Masonic Village at Burlington at the age of 90. Born in Philadelphia to the late John A. and Esther (Willis) Cajio, Jack was a longtime Burlington Twp. resident. He was a navy veteran of World War II, serving in the Pacific Theater. Jack retired as a parts manager for GMC trucks in Philadelphia. In his spare time he enjoyed fine china painting and especially gardening.
Jack would spend entire days tending to his flower and vegetable gardens. Once he retired, he and his wife Betty enjoyed traveling, experiencing and seeing the beauty of the world, going to places such as Hawaii, Europe and Jerusalem. Jack was a lifetime member of the American Legion Post 0489 in Burlington Twp., VFW Post 1817 in Burlington and a member for nearly 50 years of the Burlington Lodge #32 F&AM. He was also a member of Crescent Shrine, the Consistory Scottish Rite in Collingswood and the Holy Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Burlington Twp, where he served as an usher for many years. Jack was predeceased by his wife Betty, his son David W. Cajio, Sr., and his daughter in law Linda Cajio.
He is survived by his son John R. “Jack”, Jr., daughter and son in law; Kathleen and Anthony Ardito, daughter in law Donna Cajio, grandchildren; Vanessa Wright (Justin), John D. Cajio, Genna Cajio, David W. Cajio, Jr., and Tiffany Cajio, his great grandchildren; Jackson, Mason, Wilson, Cullan, Holden and Tyler as well as many nieces, nephews and other family members and friends.
