John “Jabe” Theodore Hobson, Jr., age 54, of Redby, Minnesota began his journey to the spirit world on Friday, June 19th, 2020 from the Sanford Hospital in Bemidji, MN.
Jabe was born in Minneapolis, MN on May 28th, 1966, the son of Daileen (Hobson) and John T. Atkinson, Sr. He spent his younger years in Minneapolis and East Grand Forks, where he attended East Central High School. Jabe also lived in other places like Utah, Arizona, California and New Mexico with his mother and settled down in Redby, MN after her passing, with whom he was inseparable, on February 12th, 1998. He worked various jobs in the places that he lived with his mother as well as doing maintenance for the 7 Clans Casino in Thief River Falls and numerous roofing jobs over the years.
Jabe loved all genres of music but his favorite was Rock and Roll. A few of his favorites were Van Halen, AC/DC and Metallica. He enjoyed most all food, especially Twizzlers, Pizza and Mac & Cheese but he really liked cook-outs. Jabe was a very generous and kind man who found his enjoyment in cruising with his friends, scratch off lottery tickets and being with his family. He loved to joke around and loved everyone who was in his life. He never turned anyone down when they needed help. Jabe was deeply loved by his family and friends.
Family that he is reunited with are his mother, Daileen Ann Atkinson; grandparents, Daniel and Doris Hobson and Martha and Kenny Atkinson; aunties, Doreen Nece and Donna Lamont; uncles, Danny and Darrell Hobson; and cousins, Calvin Norby, Arnold Maxwell, Jr., Gail Schriefels, Glenda Norby and Merissa Maxwell.
Jabe leaves behind his father, John Atkinson; sisters, Rose Benson, Barbie and Susie Sloan; aunt, Deb Maxwell; uncles, Delmar Hobson and Arnold Maxwell, Sr.; cousins, Cheryl, Dana, Danielle, Michelle and numerous other family members.
