John J. Ritter, Jr., 94 of Ft. Myers Beach, Florida went to be with the Lord Sept 4, 2012.
He was born August 7, 1918 in Green Springs to the late John Sr. and Betsy Ritter.
John graduated from Green Springs High School and served our country in the Army Air Corps during WWII. He retired from the Kroger Company in 1971 and then worked for his son as a plumber until he was 86.
On December 25, 1937 he married Geraldine Mears and she preceded him in death on October 23, 1992. They moved to Ft Myers Beach in August 1976.
He loved Christmas decorating and for over 60 years he won many first place prizes. His expertise was in cultivating roses.
Survivors inlcude his children: Leland (Linda) Ritter of Columbia, Tenn and Sharon (Joe) Schmitz Auciello of Ft. Myers Beach; his sister, Georgia (Bud) Hart of Lakeland, FL; his sister-in-law, Roberta Ritter (the late Warren) of Orange City, FL; six grandchildren: Leland (Vicki) Ritter, of Ft. Myers; Lori (Mike) Topolewski of Berkley, Ohio; Kelly (Paul) Laroy of Ottawa Lake, Mich; Laura (Richard) Valdez of Columbia, Tenn; Lisa (Jim) Bennett of Toledo; Leanne (Scott) Dunsworth of North Ft Myers; 13 great grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.
