ATKINSON, NH – With profound sadness, we announce the passing of our patriarch, John J. Morrissey. He was born on September 15, 1938, in Lowell to Cornelius and Gertrude (Rouselle) Morrissey. He grew up in the area and at an early age moved to Chelmsford and graduated from Chelmsford High School. Soon after graduation, he joined the Navy to serve his country.
He leaves behind his wife Carol (Gallerani), two daughters Patricia Grigg and Mary Malone, and his son Robert N. Leavitt. He was Papa John to six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his first wife Joyce Murphy, a son Jae, and a son in-law Christopher Chase.
