John J. Maggio John Joseph Maggio, of Ridgefield, passed away peacefully on August 11, surrounded by his family after a long battle with Carcinoid Cancer. John was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend. Born on January 2, 1931 in Brooklyn, New York, he spent the last 43 years of his life in Ridgefield, CT. At 18 years old, John entered the Air Force and was stationed in Tachikawa, Japan and Korea where he was an air traffic controller.
