John J. LaVoie of Plymouth passed away peacefully in his home on Saturday October 17th. Born in Plymouth on February 11, 1955 , son of the late Weldon and Eleanor (Welch) LaVoie. John was educated in Plymouth and a graduate of Plymouth – Carver High School class of 1972. He went on the join the Plymouth Fire Department in July of 1974 where he was a firefighter until his retirement in 2009. He was an avid hunter and outdoors sportsman’s and was a collector of antique bottles and artifacts. John enjoyed riding his Harley’s and spending time at his camp in is survived by his daughter Jade Marie LaVoie of Plymouth, son Robert W. Lavoie of Plymouth. Grandfather of Ashley Gomes of Plymouth, Jasmine Gomes of Naples, Fl., and Noah Gomes of Plymouth. Great grandfather of Aaliyah Gomes and West Gomes. He was the former husband of the late Kelly L. (Blanchard) LaVoie and brother of the late Patricia Ann Pierce. Also survived by his beloved cat Squeeky.
