John C. J.J. Justice, 75, of Hobbs, New Mexico, died Saturday, September 11, 2010, at his residence in Hobbs.
J. J. was born September 14, 1934, in Hiawassee, Georgia, to Fred and Della Justice. He served in the U.S. Army 101 st Airborne from April, l955 to April, 1957. Upon completion of his military service, J.J. went to work for Phillip 66 Petroleum Company in New York and Indiana. He married Marilynn Stipp in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, on September 2, 1967, and they made their home in Hobbs. He went to work for Caprock Communications where he served as General Manager.
John is survived by his wife, Marilynn of the home two sons, Drew and wife Amity Justice of Payson, Arizona, Mark and wife Angela Justice of Hobbs one brother, Melvin Justice of Toccoa, Georgia two sisters, Marjorie Murdock of Toccoa, Georgia, Mary Lee DeFoor of Calhoun, Georgia and two grandsons, Dylan and Colton Justice both of Payson, Ariaona. J.J. was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, James C. Justice of Toccoa, Georgia.
J.J. was passionate about hunting, fishing and gardening. He never passed a stray dog or cat he didnt feed or place in a caring home. J.J. enjoyed attending auctions across the southwest searching for a good deal. He was involved with the Hobbs Bass Club and the Lea County Humane Society for over 20 years, both organizations benefiting from Johns numerous volunteer hours, fundraising and project implementation.
