John J. Desmond 81, of Rumson passed away on November 11, 2016 at Jersey
Shore Medical Center. He was born in Rumson to Francis and Madelyn (Bond)Desmond.
John retired after 23 years as a heavy construction laborer for Local 472. After retirement he started D & D Landscaping. John was a member of the Fireside Club, He lived a happy and blessed life; John had a great sense of humor and enjoyed his sports (NY Mets), race horses and German chocolate cake. John’s

He is survived by his high school sweetheart and wife of 58 years Rita Mattson Desmond, His loving daughters Lorraine Oakes (Robert) of Rumson, Linda Simone(Vincent) of Lincroft, and Kathleen O’Connor(Thomas) of Fair Haven. Also, his grandchildren Anthony, Danielle, Joseph, Shannon, Kevin, Michael, Johnny and Tommy.
