John J. Della Penna, Jr., 83, of Berkeley Twp., NJ died on Monday February 1, 2021 at Monmouth Medical Center, Lakewood, NJ. John was born in New York, NY and lived in Haskell, NJ most of his life.
He was a Council President for the Borough of Wanaque also a member of the Knights of Columbus St. Francis Catholic Church of Haskell NJ. John also was Captain on the Wanaque First Aid Squad, Member of the Wanaque Coaches association for many years. He started his career as a butcher for A&P, then started his own Appliance business in Butler NJ. Before he retired, he was Meat Manager for Pathmark Supermarkets for fifteen + years. He then retired to Berkeley Twp., NJ
John was known as a mentor and Maverick a Leader that was results oriented and set examples for many of his colleagues, friends and family in all his work and personal life.
John is predeceased by his parents John and Anna (Sebastina) Della Penna.
Surviving is his wife Frances Della Penna of Berkeley Twp. NJ., his children Frances Sabato of Toms River, NJ, John W. Della Penna of West Milford, NJ and Scott Della Penna and his wife Joan of Haskell, NJ; his brother Robert Della Penna and his wife Joanne of Ocala, Fl; his 6 Grandchildren and 3 Great Grandchildren.
