John J. Connors 82 of Lavallette, NJ died on Tuesday October 23, 2012 at Green Acers Manor, Toms River, NJ. Born At home in Kearny, NJ Jack lived there for 61 years before moving to Lavallette, NJ in 1993. He had summered there since 1966. He graduated from Kearny High school in 1949 and the served in the National Guard.
He belonged to the Knights of Columbus and attended St Cecilia’s RC Church both in Kearny, NJ and St Catharine’s RC Church Seaside Park, NJ. He was a member of the Operating Engineers Union Local 68 working as a Stationary Engineer first for Gordon’s Gin in Linden and then for the NY Times in Edison, NJ retiring in 1993. Jack enjoyed many happy years at his home in Lavallette; he loved the ocean and the joy it brought to his family.
He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years Patricia nee Fay. Daughter Marion Whitby and her husband Michael. Three sons John T and his wife Anne, Thomas E. and his wife Veronica and Robert J and his wife Gerry. 9 Grandchildren and 4 Great Grandchildren He will be missed by many.
