John Hopkins, 76, of 570 Sand Hill Road, Montoursville, died Monday, January 3, 2011, at the Anne Arundel Medical Center, Annapolis, MD.

John and his wife, the former Marianne B. Bauer, celebrated their 52nd anniversary on July 5th.

John was a retired insurance executive and an Army veteran. He was an active member of the Calvary Baptist Church and sang in the church choir. He was also a member and sang with the chorus of the Gesang Verein Harmonia. He enjoyed entertaining people throughout his life with his beautiful baritone voice.

John was a 32nd degree Mason, volunteered with the Susquehanna Hospice, and was an avid Penn State football fan.

Born November 7, 1934, in Wakefield, MA, he was the son of Leroy and Pearl Conway Hopkins.

Surviving besides his wife are daughters, Anna Pearl (Gregory) Spangler of Cleveland, OH, and Lisa K. (David) Grasso of Annapolis, MD, and a grandson, Dominic John Grasso.
