Deacon John Henry Long was born March 24, 1928 to the late Sky Long and Rendy Miller Long in Mooresville, AL.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Mother Sarah Long. He departed this life on August 3, 2013 at Huntsville Hospital, Huntsville, Alabama.
Deacon John Long accepted Christ on August 15, 1958 and joined the Jerusalem P. B. Church under the leadership of the late Pastor Robert T. Jones, where he served faithfully as chairman of the Deacon Board until he became ill. He also attended the Indian Creek Association faithfully.
His loving memory and lasting impression will be cherished by his three daughters: Ernestine Coffman, Sarah Wallace of Belle Mina, AL and Queen (James) Sandifer of Huntsville, AL; ten grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren; one brother-in-law, David (Margaret) Kingston of Belle Mina, AL; two sisters-in-law, Mildred Kingston of Tanner, AL, and Ollie White of Athens, AL; a devoted niece, Ella (JC) Pitts, devoted cousins, Brethanell Nalls, Juanita Wallace and Mary Harper and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
