John Harkness, age 83, of Haines City, Florida passed peacefully, with his devoted Partner of 27 years, Patricia Fabry by his side. John was born and raised in Boston Ma. He moved to Milford Ct. in 1963, where he raised his family and resided for 35 Years. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 36 years, Viola Crosby Harkness, his brother Jimmy and his parents Harold and Mary Jones Harkness.
John was a committed husband and father that worked hard to provide. He raised his family to be honest, hard working and responsible. He was very quick witted and truly enjoyed making others laugh. He loved sports and was an avid reader.
He served in the Navy during World War II and was stationed in England.
Survivors include his partner Pat Fabry of Haines City FL, sister Dolly Borden of Bridgewater, MA. , daughter Ileene Morgan (Jim) of Groton CT., son Jim Harkness (Marianne), of Winnetka IL. , son Paul Harkness (Patricia) of Milford CT. and Bob Harkness (Michelle) of Seabeck WA. John had 9 grand children and 5 great grand children.
