John Hall, Jr.

John Edward (Hall) Rakevet, Jr., 47, of South Bend, Indiana passed away on Wednesday, December 29, 2021. John was born on September 6, 1974 in Austin, Texas. On October 24, 2020 he married Kelsi Erin Moffitt who survives. John also is survived by one son, John “Jack” Hall, III of South Bend, Indiana and his father John Hall and step mother Nancy Hall. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Donald and Catherine Hall.
John and Kelsi took the last name Rakevet at their marriage to honor his late grandfather. John served in the Army and National Guard. He was an active member of the Minneapolis Jewish Community and was a dedicated man of god. John was a community organizer focused on social justice and homelessness. He worked closely with the Minneapolis Regional Labor Federation and was a member of the Minneapolis Stage Hand Union. John was a life long athlete who loved hitting the gym with his son, and spending time kayaking and paddle boarding with his wife. He loved to read, write and listen to country music.
John was a caring father, a loving husband, a cherished son/son in law, and a fierce protector of his friends and family. His voice and laugh were larger than life and will be greatly missed by many.
