John “Mouse” H. Irwin, Jr. of Burlington Township passed away Monday, September 4, 2017 surrounded by his family at Lourdes Medical Center of Burlington County in Willingboro NJ. He was 85. John was born April 15, 1932 in Burlington. He graduated from Burlington High School with the Class of 1950. John proudly served in the US Navy aboard the USS Missouri and was honorably discharged.
He was a plumber by trade, a past member of the Roma Club and a lifelong parishioner of St Paul’s Catholic Church where he served as an usher. An avid sports fan, John was known to be seen at many high school and local sporting events, however, his true dedication was to three teams: Burlington Township Falcons, University of New Haven Chargers and the Notre Dame Fighting Irish.
He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Betty Irwin, wife, Marie (Mimi), brothers William and Robert and grandson John IV and brother in law Andrew (Jingy) Drangula. He is survived by his children John III (Shirley), Colleen Butler (John), Paul, and his grandchildren who are the pride and joy of his life, John 5, Kristen, Nicole and Paul, Jr., brothers and sisters, Thomas, Mary Ann Gallo (Vince), Nancy Dolan (Mike), and Edward (the late Joyce) sisters-in-law Janice Irwin, Judy Irwin, Annette Prior (Tom), Dorothy Drangula, brother-in-law Charles Drangula (Christine Yankoski) and many loving nieces, nephews and friends.
