John Allen Goodyk was born August 26, 1955, to Cornelius “Case” and Esther (Sutton) Goodyk in Mahaska County, Iowa.
John attended Pella Community High School and was a letter carrier for the U.S.
John will be remembered for being funny, hardworking, falling asleep anywhere, road-tripping, and having the biggest heart. In his spare time, John loved to fish, hunt for mushrooms and deer. He also loved playing cribbage, watching the Hawkeyes play and shopping at Hy-Vee, stamp and coin collecting and lottery tickets.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife Gloria, and their family:

He is also survived by his brother: Darrell (Sheryl) Goodyk, his sister Carol Jansen, his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Sandy (Dick) Guiter, Gloria Worthington, and Jocelyn (Harlan) Van Wyk, and many nieces, nephews and special life-long friends.
John was preceded in death by his parents Case and Esther Goodyk, and his brothers-in-law: Ed Jansen, Clifford Worthington, and Denny Bachman.
