It is with great sadness that we announce that John Gerald Depkin passed away on the morning of September 21, 2020, next to his loving wife, Linda Depkin’s side, in Parker, Colorado. John, more commonly known as Jerry, and more affectionately known as Pop, Pop Pop, Jerr-Bear and Javier, was born in Baltimore, Maryland on December 5, 1947. Jerry met his wife Linda at the age of 15. They were married for 51 years, together just shy of 58 years, and had their only son, Sean Depkin.
Though Jerry was a proud Marylander, he made the voyage with his wife Linda and bird Alex, to move to Colorado to be closer to Sean, his daughter-in-law Sereena, and meet his first grandchild, Lorenzo. Jerry truly loved being in Colorado and valued his friends and the life that he and Linda had created here together. He was as known for being a funny; sarcastic; curmudgeon, as he was for his kindness, generosity and affection.
Jerry is survived by his wife Linda, son Sean Depkin, daughter-in-law Sereena and grandson Lorenzo Depkin. His brother Lee Depkin, sister-in-law Linda Sue, sister-in-law, Theo Depkin.
He was Predeceased in death by his parents, Leroy and Marian Depkin, and his brother, Michael Depkin.
