“I will sing to the Lord because he is good to me” Psalms 13:6. After a life time of singing praises to God, John G. Yoder age 76 of California, formerly of Midland, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Tuesday, September 21, 2021.
John was born to the late Vernon (Pete) and Dorothy (Whittington) Yoder on August 6, 1945. He grew up on a small farm in Midland, Michigan. It was here that he first learned to play the guitar and sing. In 1976 he met his wife, the love of his life, Sharon (Lesko) Yoder. They had a beautiful life together in California spending many years in Santa Clara where he was a pipe fitter with union local 393. John took great pride in the work that he did and loved showing the places that he helped to build. They eventually retired to Hollister California. There John was an active member of the Christ Fellowship Church. He enjoyed sharing his love of God and Music while singing with the praise team there.
In addition to his wife, Sharon, John is survived by his children, John and Ruth Yoder and Michille and Scott Federer; brother Jerry and Carolyn Yoder; grandchildren, Rachel, Jacob, Katrina, Zachary, Megan, and Roselynn; great grandchildren, Ryan, Amelia, Isabelle, and Ruibin. In addition to his parents John was preceded in death by his brother, Ronald Yoder.
