CUCCIA
John Frank Cuccia passed peacefully from this earth to his heavenly home on Tuesday, August 18th, 2015. John, a native New Orleanian, was much loved by his family and many friends. He was a resident of Hattiesburg, Mississippi at the time of his death, but his heart was always home in his beloved city, New Orleans. John possessed a kind and wonderful spirit, a passion for life, and always had an infectious smile and twinkle in his eye. His beloved wife of 54 years, Sydney, had only recently passed away on May 30th, 2015. She was the love of his life, along with his children and grandchildren. John attended school at Warren Easton before serving his country honorably as a corporal with special qualifications as a marksman in the U. S. Marine Corp during World War II.
John was born on July 13, 1929, to the late Giovanni (John) and Leo Luchina (Laura) Cuccia. He also was preceded in death by his wife, Sydney Kuntz Cuccia, a sister, Rose Cuccia Bourgeois, three brothers, Frank Cuccia, Tony Cuccia, and Salvadore Cuccia, and one granddaughter, Camille Anne Cuccia. He is survived by one daughter, Toni Cuccia Wild (Jim), two sons, John Matthew Cuccia (Cindy) and Michael Cuccia (Lisa). He is also survived by six grandchildren, London Ramel Cuccia, Claire Michelle Cuccia, Michael Samuel Cuccia, Matthew John Cuccia, William Harding Wild, and Steven Forrest Wild.
The family would like to express heartfelt gratitude for the many calls, prayers, and kindnesses shown to John and the family during this difficult time, especially to those special people who served as John’s caregivers in his final days. You all will forever be in our hearts!
