John F. Minzy, Sr.
Baltic- John F. Minzy, Sr. “Jack”, 85 of Lubec Maine and Norwich, CT passed away on September 16, 2013 at his daughter’s home surrounded by his loving family. He was predeceased by his wife of 57 years, Patricia V. (Findlay) Minzy in 2002. John was born in Lubec, ME the youngest son of Leon and Mary (Madigan) Minzy and grew up in Lubec. He resided in Lubec until joining the United States Navy. After leaving the Navy he moved his family to CT where he worked at Pratt and Whitney and continued in construction as a laborer until retiring back to Lubec in 1991.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle and great-grandfather. He is survived by his sons John F. Minzy, Jr. and wife Dee of Sutton, MA, George “Tip” Minzy and wife Mary Ellen of Sprague, Michael Minzy and wife Debra of Jewett City and his daughters, Doreen St. Lawrence of Baltic with whom he resided, Mary-Jo Minzy and partner, Tim Coombs, daughter in law Jackie Bogue, many nieces and nephews, a special brother-in-law, Lawton “Chum” Carter, his twelve grandkids-“Grampa’s team” and his “bench warmers”, fifteen great grandkids. In addition to his wife he was predeceased by his son, Scott Findlay Minzy in 1951 and son-in-law Butch Politowicz in 2010.
