All you need is one solid anchor to keep you grounded. For us, that anchor was our father, John.
John F. Toth passed away unexpectedly on August 13, 2021 at age 86. Born in Trenton, NJ, in 1934, he graduated from Trenton Central High in 1952. Immediately after high school, he enlisted in the navy, where he honorably served his country aboard the USS Pine Island during the Korean War. After military service, he joined the Trenton Police Department, first as a police dispatcher and later an officer. During this time, he also worked as a bus driver for Delaware Valley Bus Co. and as a security officer at Mercer County Community College. After 30 years of law enforcement, he retired and began working for the NJ Division of Taxation for an additional 25 years. He relished spending time with family and friends, watching the occasional sports game on television (or The Winds of War), and enjoying donuts from McMillan’s Bakery in Haddon Township NJ. He had a twinkle in his eye and a smile on his face, and he was always ready to tell a story to whoever would listen.
John was preceded in death by his parents, Stephen Toth and Irene Toth (née Holczman), brothers Julius (Jules), Alfred (Al), and Stephen (Pete), his first wife Sandra Carole Toth, and his second wife Marie Calabria and her two children, Susan Pizzo (née Calabria) and Diane Calabria.
John is survived by his children John F. Toth (Rand Hubiak), Richard C. Toth (Imee), Brian R. Golia (Donnalee), and Kerri L. Golia; his grandsons Zachery Murray and Carmen Pizzo (Stephanie); and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. John was loved and will be dearly missed.
