John F. Flood, Sr., 86, of Toms River, NJ, passed away Monday, April 12, 2021 at home.
Born in Ridley Park, PA, he moved to Toms River in 1963.
John retired from the United States Air Force in 1978 after 23 years of service to our country. He served during the Vietnam War and attained the rank of Technical Sergeant.
Following retirement, John was in charge of the ROTC at Jackson Memorial High School for six years then served as a bartender/manager at the Spring Lake Bath and Tennis Club.
He was predeceased by his parents, Raymond and Hazel Flood.
John is survived by his wife of 65 years, Joan (nee McFerren); his four children John Flood, Jr. and his wife Janet of Toms River, James Flood of Toms River, Janet Wood and her husband Phil of Forked River, NJ, and Jennifer Macom and her husband Tim of Toms River; two sisters Joan Nelling of Folsom, PA and Geri Daly of Naples, FL; four grandchildren Philip, Jr., Christina, Ryan and Bradyen.
