John Erwin Myers, age 89 , of Fairmount, IN, died Thursday, July 29, 2011 after a long battle with cancer. He was the son of the late Basil Myers and the late Marguerite (Barnett) Myers. He was born in Jonesboro, Indiana on September 22, 1921. He graduated from Jonesboro High School in 1939. He married Ruby W. Woodyard.
She preceded him in death on April 20, 1995. He then married Helen K. Weaver-Knight. She preceded him in death in December 2010. After serving 14 years in the Marine Corp during WWII and the Korean Conflict he went on to serve the Air Force at Warner-Robins Air Force Base as a Civil Servant. He was a 50 year member of the Masonic Lodge of Worthington, Ohio, Lions Club and Elks Lodge member of Warner Robins, GA and Fairmount American Leion Post 313.
He was an avid photographer and loved music, baseball and football.
