John Ernest Schiffbauer, 63, of Newburg, formerly of Morgantown, passed away Sunday, April 4, 2010, at Preston Memorial Hospital. He was born at West Virginia University Hospital in Morgantown, December 20, 1946, a son of the late Jack C. and Evelyn L. (Spiker) Schiffbauer. John graduated from Morgantown High School; he joined the US Army and served in Korea. He worked for several years in Morgantown at Seneca Glass Company. John is survived by: two uncles, Lester “Gene” Spiker, Grafton, and Marshall Norman Spiker, Independence; one aunt, Ruth Miles, Sacramento, CA, and several cousins. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Lester and Lois (Sheets) Spiker; paternal grandparents, Ernest and May (Jakeway) Schiffbauer; three uncles, Truman Spiker, Donald “Abe” Spiker, and Bernard Schiffbauer; and one aunt, Garnet Taylor.
