…..A native of Pearlington, MS, he was a Master Carpenter and a member of Pearlington United Methodist Church. John was a WWII Army Infantry Veteran who received the Military Combat Infantry Badge, Purple Heart, Good Conduct Medal, European African Middle Eastern Campaign Medal, Distinguished Unit Badge, and American Campaign Service Medal. He was a devote Christian who loved his family and shared his testimony with everyone. He loved building things, spending time with his family, fishing, and sharing the gospel with all of his friends and was preceded in death by his loving wife of 65 wonderful years, Nannie M. Petttit Giveans; parents, Elliott R. Giveans and Katie A. Bennett Giveans; granddaughter, Jennifer to cherish his memory are his daughter, Patricia Giveans Gaspard; son, John E. (Wanda) Giveans Jr.; grandchildren, Kimberly (Brandon) Fornea, John A. (Teresa) Giveans, Fred A.
