John Edward Rasmussen, 92, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, July 22, 2013.
He was the son of Molly and John Rasmussen of Bergen, Norway. He was born on May 15, 1921 in Chiapas, Mexico where his father was serving as overseer of a coffee plantation. There he lived until he was 12 with his parents and 3 sisters, Molly, Ragna and Astrid and his brother Norman. After his father’s death, he traveled to Zephyrhills, FL with his older brother to live with family that had come to America. John became an American citizen as soon as possible and proudly served in the US Air Force as a telegraph operator.
