Anderson – John Edward Pitts, 47, Anderson, passed away November 25, 2009 after a sudden illness. He was born October 1, 1962 in Lakeland, Florida, and resided in Anderson most of his life. He was a painter. He was an avid racer at Anderson Speedway and was a NASCAR fan.
He enjoyed building race cars for his sons and loved spending time with his grandkids. He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Melinda Gamble Pitts; children, Amanda Pitts Tony, Jason Pitts Tina and Johnathon Pitts Brittney; siblings, Nina Dean Gustin, Barbara Wayne Rieger, Sandy McClendin and Don Kim Pitts; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Lisa King, Irene Trent, Monty, Charles Wilder, Jeff Gamble, Larry Gamble, David Gamble and their spouses; special grandchildren, Joey, Jason II, Brittley, Crew, Eldorado and the twins; several nieces & nephews; and many special friends including Mark Goetman, Matt Warner, Steve Weaver, Herb Rose, Ronnie Rose, Mike Acree, Zach Holcomb and Jeff Saxon. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sam & Jaunita Garrison Pitts.
