Williamsport, MD – John E. “Jack” Reinmuth, 73, of Williamsport, MD passed away on Thursday, September 8, 2022 at his home surrounded by his loved ones.

 

Born November 20, 1948 in Washington, DC, Jack was the son of the late Edward Reinmuth, Jr. and Jean Maebelle Smith Reinmuth.

 

Jack attended and graduated high school in Montgomery County, Maryland.  He served his country in the United States Army Reserve.  Jack was employed as a cartographer by the US Department of Commerce, NOAA (National Oceanic & Aviation Administration for 37 years.  His team created the Lunar charts for the Apollo 11 Space Mission to the Moon.

 

He was an Honorary life member and Past Commander of the Potomac Post #202 American Legion in Williamsport.  He was of the Methodist Faith.

 

He is survived by his wife, Jane; daughters Carlyn Brown of Falling Waters and Jean Reinmuth of Hagerstown; granddaughters Mia Reinmuth, Olivia Brown and Emma Brown.  Additionally he is survived by those to whom he may not have been related by blood, but who he considered family and they likewise, daughter Melissa Myers of Tomahawk, WV; grandchildren Nicholas (Dulce) Price of Waynesboro, PA; Blake Price and Elijah Sharff of Martinsburg, WV; Reese Sharff, Brady Myers and Hunter Weidman of Tomahawk, WV; and great grandsons Sage Price and Easton Sharff.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Barbara Holloman.

 

 

Although unable to express his gratitude, Jack and Jane extend great appreciation to “Team Jack”: Cheryl Slonaker, Glenn Fischer, Chris Durboraw, Michele Rudolph, Mary Kreps, Pam Lacey, as well as daughters and granddaughters who stepped up and assisted with caregiving as his condition declined over the summer.
