John E. Cox, 81, Anderson, died June 28, 2012 at residence. He was born March 5, 1931 in Sullivan, and resided in Anderson since 1952.
John served his country in the US Army during the Korean War and retired from Anderson University as a plummer.
John was a member of Gethsemane Four Square Gospel Church. He was a very family oriented man with God being #1 and family #2.
He is survived by his wife whom he married March 6, 1976, Judith Shaw Cox; children, Wanita Ruppert Gene, Bill Cox, Pamela Backman, James Smith Janice, Jamie Cox, Jody Harvey Rick, Carol Hollen Jerry, and Mary Greuter Tony; siblings, Margie Bogart and Maxine Hiatt; 20 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren and one on the way; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Herman & Margaret Cafin Cox; and siblings, Florence Shelton, Elizabeth Weaver, Roy Cox, Bill Cox, Hubert Cox, and James Borders.
